1. Where and When

Most Portraits are taken on or near my property. There will be a choice of ponds, woods, fields, split rail fence, or stone wall available for your session setting. If you prefer a different setting, there may be a travel fee dependent on distance.

2. Clothing

There is no question, clothing matters. coordinating colors among your group makes a photo more esthetically pleasing. I prefer earthy tones like the ones above, along with white and jean.

Lose the logos: logos and graphics don't age well. For a timeless photo, one that will hang on your wall for years to come, stay away from graphic tees and logo tops.

With that being said, at the end of the day this is your photoshoot. Style it as you wish. I am available to provide advice and inspiration, but these are YOUR photos and they should portray that.

3. Time of Day

It's that golden hour we hear so much about. During the summer months, this is 7 or 8 pm in the fall and winter months it is much earlier. Taking photos in this window allows for a softer light, one that prevents squinting and harsh shadows. As your date draws closer, we will be in communication as we watch weather and plan a time that suits both of our needs.

4. Online Gallery

Your photos will be available to you within 2 weeks in an online gallery, most of the time sooner. A link will be provided to you along with a password to access your photos. Photos will be available for download and/or printing from the gallery. Photos will be immediately yours and will not be watermarked.
